Description:

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 10 am - 6 pm
Interview Process: In-Person Interviews
Work Environment: Cold storage warehouse environment requiring extended periods of standing. Candidates must be comfortable working across all warehouse areas: Dry (10%), Cooler (10%), and Freezer (80%).
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Driver Checkin/ Inventory Control / Returns Clerk to support warehouse operations by managing inventory accuracy, processing product returns, and ensuring proper documentation of materials and finished goods. This position plays a critical role in shipping, receiving, inventory control, and driver route reconciliation.
The ideal candidate will have proven inventory control experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a freezer warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Control & Warehouse Operations
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and perform inventory control activities.
  • Support shipping, receiving, warehousing, order filling, picking, and packing operations.
  • Ensure proper storage and movement of materials and finished goods.
  • Assist with dispatch activities and transportation coordination.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory quantities, product types, and merchandise values.
Driver Check-In & Returns Processing
  • Check in drivers upon route completion by verifying returned products and delivery documentation.
  • Ensure customer invoices are properly signed and identify any missed deliveries.
  • Account for and verify the return of company assets, including pallets, totes, and other equipment.
  • Identify missed collections and communicate discrepancies to Credit Services.
  • Review delivery exceptions and ensure all issues are properly documented.
  • Inspect returned products to determine eligibility for restocking or customer credit.
  • Assign and adjust return reason codes and damage codes as required.
  • Separate, stage, and accurately count returned products for processing.
  • Verify returned quantities match return sheets and invoices.
Logistics & Transportation Support
  • Assist with transportation scheduling, routing, and cost analysis.
  • Support customs documentation and permit requirements as needed.
  • Coordinate with external transportation providers and vendors.
  • Assist with fleet and vehicle management activities when required.
Food Safety & Compliance
  • Verify food safety procedures have been followed on all returned products.
  • Coordinate with Food Safety personnel regarding compliance concerns.
  • Maintain company standards related to inventory control and warehouse safety.
Qualifications
Required
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Proven experience in inventory control and warehouse operations.
  • Ability to work in cold environments, including freezer conditions for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform warehouse duties throughout the shift.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience using AS400 systems.
Preferred
  • Prior experience in food distribution, logistics, or warehouse operations.
  • Knowledge of shipping, receiving, and returns processing procedures.
  • Experience working in temperature-controlled warehouse environments.
