The starting base rate for this role is $19.50/hr. Individual compensation will beĀ determinedĀ by the selected candidateāsĀ previousĀ work experience, education, and/or experience,Ā weĀ also offer a $3,500 sign on bonus which requires aĀ 2-yearĀ commitmentĀ to UVA Health.Ā Ā

In this high-impact position, you will serve as a trusted access expert across multiple clinical settings, supportingĀ patient intake, registration, scheduling, andĀ financial clearanceĀ functions. Your ability to adapt quickly,Ā maintainĀ accuracy, and provide outstanding service will directly influence both patient experience and operational efficiency.Ā
On any given day, you may:Ā
PerformĀ patient registration,Ā insurance verification, andĀ demographic updatesĀ withĀ a high levelĀ of accuracyĀ
Coordinate and manageĀ appointment schedulingĀ across a variety of specialty and primary care servicesĀ
Communicate directly with patients and families,Ā providingĀ clear guidance on processes, expectations, and next stepsĀ
Collaborate with clinical teams, providers, and fellow access staff toĀ resolve complex scheduling or registration challengesĀ
Maintain composure in aĀ fast-paced, high-volume environmentĀ while prioritizing both patient care andĀ compliance standardsĀ

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent required. Associates degree preferred.
Experience: 2 years relevant experience required. Access Associate fully cross-trained to cover multiple specialties will be considered in lieu of the 2 years relevant experience.
Licensure: None required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires sitting for prolonged periods; Repetitive motion: (computer and mouse use). Proficient communicative skill across spoken, writing domains, adequate auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly and compose messages clearly and concisely.
The pay range for this role is $19.50 - $30.14 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.Benefits
