UVA Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join the Dermatology Clinic in Charlottesville, Virginia. Working alongside dermatologists, advanced practice providers, dermatology assistants, and fellow clinical support professionals, you will be an essential member of a collaborative care team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient experiences and high-quality specialty care for a diverse patient population.Ā

The RoleĀ 

As a Certified Medical Assistant in Dermatology, you will help ensure efficient clinic operations while providing compassionate support to patients throughout their care journey. This is a fast-paced clinical environment where attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to teamwork directly impact patient outcomes and clinic success.Ā 

Ā 

In this role, you will:Ā 

  • Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments.Ā 

  • Obtain and document patient information, medical histories, and vital signs.Ā 

  • Assist providers with dermatologic examinations and procedures.Ā 

  • Support patient education and reinforce treatment plans and follow-up instructions.Ā 

  • Coordinate patient flow and contribute to an efficient clinic experience.Ā 

  • Manage clinical documentation and maintainaccurate medical records.Ā 

  • Communicate with patients regarding test results, appointments, and care instructions as directed.Ā 

  • Collaborate closely with dermatologists, Advanced Practice Providers, nurses, medical assistants, and clinic support staff.Ā 

  • Help maintain exam rooms, clinical equipment, and supplies to support daily operations.Ā 

  • Contribute to a positive, patient-focused environment while ensuring exceptional service and care delivery.Ā

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Experience: None required.

Licensure: American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. Current Medical Assistant Certification through a recognized national professional association such as the AAMA (American Association of Medical Assistants), the AMT (American Medical Technologists), NAHP (The National Association of Healthcare Professions), the ARMA (American Registry of Medical Assistants), or the NHA (National Healthcare Association).Ā 


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


The job requires standing for prolonged periods and frequently bending/stooping/traveling. Ability to lift/push/pull 20 – 50lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.

The pay range for this role is $19.37 - $26.83 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
