Reporting to the Director of Nursing (DON), the ADON ensures the consistent delivery of safe, compliant, and efficient nursing care across a high-volume intake environment. This position requires a leader who can make decisions quickly, enforce expectations consistently, and maintain stability under pressure. The ADON plays a critical role in maintaining clinical operations, supporting staff performance, and ensuring adherence to all institutional and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities • Supervise and support nursing and support staff within a secure correctional environment • Ensure delivery of care in compliance with Centurion policies, GDOC regulations, and security procedures • Maintain staff accountability, performance standards, and workflow efficiency • Collaborate with providers, mental health, and custody teams to support daily operations • Assist with staffing coordination, scheduling oversight, and coverage planning • Respond to clinical and operational issues in real time, ensuring continuity of care • Provide direct and indirect patient care as needed • Maintain accurate and timely documentation and reporting • Reinforce safety, infection control, and institutional protocols consistently Qualifications • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia or compact license | Must be active • Current CPR certification | Must be active • Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience required • Ability to obtain required security clearance, including drug screen and background check Preferred Experience (Highly Valued) • Correctional, forensic, or secure behavioral health environment • Emergency Department (ER), ICU, or high-acuity leadership experience • Experience managing staff in fast-paced, high-volume settings • Strong background in compliance, audits, and policy-driven environments • Demonstrated ability to lead teams independently and resolve issues without escalation This Role is Best Suited for Leaders Who: • Operate effectively in structured, policy-driven environments • Maintain composure and authority in high-pressure situations • Can lead teams with consistency, accountability, and clear expectations • Are comfortable managing complex patient populations • Prioritize safety, compliance, and operational stability Important Consideration This is a high-demand, high-responsibility leadership role within the state’s primary intake facility.
