Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Coordinator / Construction Manager to support industrial building construction projects within a large manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for coordinating general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, testing agencies, schedules, and field construction activities to ensure successful project execution while maintaining safety, quality, and schedule requirements.

The ideal candidate will possess strong industrial construction experience, excellent field coordination skills, and the ability to manage multiple project activities in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support implementation and execution of industrial building construction projects.
  • Coordinate construction scheduling, communication, and field execution activities.
  • Manage daily construction activities and provide RFI support for active projects.
  • Serve as liaison between field construction teams and project management.
  • Assist with project estimates, schedules, materials procurement, and purchase orders.
  • Supervise contractor and subcontractor activities in the field.
  • Coordinate weekend and shutdown work plans with contractors, facilities, NAMC shops, Production Control (PC), and Production Engineering (PE).
  • Coordinate equipment delivery, installation, and contractor scheduling activities.
  • Monitor installation methods to ensure compliance with project specifications and construction drawings.
  • Review and coordinate RFIs and CCRs throughout project execution.
  • Administer construction contracts and monitor contractor compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Conduct on-site inspections to support safety, quality, and schedule objectives.
  • Present project status updates and progress reports to project leadership and stakeholders.
  • Research, plan, and administer building construction activities utilizing knowledge of construction procedures, building materials, and industrial project execution.
  • Maintain detailed awareness of current and upcoming project activities and implement countermeasures to support schedule recovery when necessary.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience supporting industrial construction projects with emphasis on building construction in greenfield and/or brownfield environments.
  • Strong technical understanding of construction means, methods, and sequencing.
  • Ability to review construction drawings and apply them effectively in the field.
  • OSHA 30 Certification required.
  • Proven ability to manage construction schedules on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Ability to work extensively within a large industrial manufacturing environment, including standing, walking, stooping, climbing stairs, and accessing roof/equipment areas throughout the facility.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and contractor coordination skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Construction Management or related field.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Project.
  • Automotive manufacturing construction experience strongly preferred.
