Teaching responsibilities include core and elective classes as well as activity courses. Additional responsibilities include advising, curriculum development, assessment, and service to the college and community. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with Blackboard, CAMS, hybrid/online courses, and the ability to utilize innovative modalities for delivering course content. The instructor will also be responsible for teaching major courses in various formats, advising majors, and assisting in student recruitment and retention efforts. Additionally, the instructor will serve on division and college committees, meet established deadlines, and perform other duties as assigned by the department chair. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Teach introductory level courses each semester and upper-level courses  Teach major courses in traditional, blended, and online formats.  Familiarity with Blackboard, CAMS, hybrid/online courses, and the ability to utilize innovative modalities for delivering course content Academic advising. Participating in departmental, divisional, and institutional activities. Strong supervisory and leadership skills to manage and control the classroom. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to maintain professionalism and tact in high-stress situations. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment for a diverse student body Meet established deadlines  Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Chair. . QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS:    PHD. in Physical Education, Health Education, Kinesiology, Exercise Science or the preferred equivalent.  A master’s degree in the same area as listed above is required  Evidence of successful collegiate teaching experience. First Aid/CPR/AED Certification and Water Safety Instructor Certification are definite advantages for considerations. The ideal candidate will have experience in hands-on teaching and familiarity with Blackboard, hybrid/online courses, and the ability to utilize innovative modalities for delivering course content. Demonstrated experience or ability to effectively work with a wide range of individuals and constituents in a diverse collegiate community. Requires some walking and ability to climb stairs, possibly sitting long periods of time, ability to lift up to 10lbs. 1% of the times and minimum travel.
