The Storeroom Clerk is responsible for maintaining an organized, accurate, and efficient maintenance storeroom by receiving, issuing, and tracking parts, tools, and supplies. This role supports maintenance operations by ensuring technicians have timely access to the materials needed to minimize equipment downtime while maintaining inventory accuracy and compliance with company safety and food safety standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and stock incoming parts, supplies, and equipment.
  • Verify shipments against purchase orders and packing slips for accuracy.
  • Issue maintenance parts, tools, and materials to maintenance personnel.
  • Process inventory transactions using SAP or the company's computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through routine cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs to purchasing or planning personnel.
  • Coordinate kitting of planned maintenance work orders to ensure required parts are available before scheduled work.
  • Maintain organized storage locations for all maintenance inventory.
  • Identify obsolete, damaged, or excess inventory and communicate recommendations for disposition.
  • Assist with receiving emergency maintenance parts as needed.
  • Maintain proper documentation for inventory movements, returns, and adjustments.
  • Support maintenance planners by locating parts and verifying inventory availability.
  • Generate and maintain inventory, usage, and stock level reports.
  • Ensure all storeroom activities comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), USDA regulations, food safety requirements, and company safety policies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe storeroom environment.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, Purchasing, Operations, and external vendors to support plant maintenance activities.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory accuracy, organization, and storeroom efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, maintenance storeroom operations, or a similar role.
  • Experience using SAP, CMMS, or other inventory management software preferred.
