Job Description
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This person will oversee our preventive maintenance program & MRO inventory control systems at the Jackson TN facility. This person will work directly with production, quality, engineering, and management personnel to improve the overall effectiveness of this facility. This person will report to the Maintenance Manager.
Position Responsibilities:
- Maintain our preventive maintenance program while developing continuous improvements to reduce downtime & increase production uptime.
- Improve & maintain our Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) to ensure inventory accuracy and on-time completion of preventive maintenance work orders.
- Manage capital projects using a structured method to achieve optimum investment decisions, as well as achieving an efficient and successful delivery of projects.
- Develop & implement plans to improve safety, appearance and overall cost effectiveness of these operations.
- Closely monitor assigned budgets and make the necessary changes to stay within company goals.
- Maintain discipline in issuing items from our tool crib to ensure MRO inventory accuracy and eliminating or reducing unnecessary waste.
- Oversee building & grounds maintenance, as well as material handling equipment maintenance.
- Supervise our utility & janitorial personnel.
Qualifications
Job Prerequisites:
- Ability to meet attendance standards. All full-time employees are required to work a 40-hr week. At times it may be necessary to work additional hours in order to get the required tasks accomplished to meet deadlines.
- Highly motivated, well-organized.
- Maintain high personal standards of quality.
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as effectively communicating with management and direct reports. Should have the ability to recognize communication gaps and appropriately address them.
- Excellent problem solving and team motivational skills are a must.
- Must be flexibility and adapt to changes in the work environment as well as managing competing demands. May require flexible hours when necessary to reach company goals.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work with a large variety of individuals, including production personnel, maintenance personnel, manufacturing engineers, management and outside contactors
Physical & Environmental Requirements:
- Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment, heat and cold.
- Ability to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Ability to stand prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to hear sounds and differentiate between them.
- Ability to visually understand distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and color vision.
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required, college degree a plus
- Must have 5+ years’ experience in facilities management, manufacturing, or maintenance planning role.
- Must have previous experience coordinating and supervising maintenance personnel in a manufacturing environment.
- Must have excellent computer skills, including but not limited to Excel, Word, Power Point, Crystal Reports, CMMS, etc
