We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled professional to support our quality and testing operations. This role is responsible for leading and directing non-destructive testing (NDT) equipment set-ups, validating test systems, analyzing quality trends, and supporting metallurgical evaluations to ensure the highest standards of product quality and reliability.

This position offers the opportunity to work closely with operations, quality, and maintenance teams while contributing to process improvements, equipment performance, and advanced failure analysis initiatives.

Primary responsibilities include: 

Directing routine calibrations of NDT equipment. Prove-up results to validate equipment operation and identify nature of defects. Reporting of test results and data trends of testing lines.  Coordination of procedures and performing audits.  Maintenance of database, ensuring accurate data reported.  Assistance with preparation of test specimens for metallurgical evaluations as required.

This job reports directly to the Finishing Department supervision and indirectly to the Quality Assurance Manager. This job requires a four year degree or equivalent, at least three (3) years experience in operations and testing environment, and at least one (1) year as a Metallurgical Technician.  This job requires the incumbent to complete the Metallurgical Technician II Qualification Checklist. This incumbent should possess basic computer literacy.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Follow all site Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality directives.
  • Responsible for assisting in the attainment of predetermined quality goals as established by the company.
  • Responsible for participating in the creation standard practices for control methods.
  • Responsible for adhering to all plant and department rules for safety and work procedures.
  • Responsible to participate in proper, efficient, and effective work methods that improve quality and production capacity.
  • Cooperates with other departments to maintain minimum downtime operations.
  • Assists in the creation and/or modification of procedures.
  • Responsible for completing all required annual safety and environmental training.
  • Actively participates in Failure Analysis methodology.
  • Responsible for the performance of other duties, as assigned.
  • Participate in team FMEA Failure Mode Effects Analysis, and performance of equipment POD probability of detection MSA Measurement System Analysis.
