What does a day as a Paralegal at Leaders Credit Union look like?

As a Paralegal at Leaders, you will play a vital role in supporting our legal department.  You will work closely with our Legal Counsel and other team members to manage legal documentation, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and provide essential support in various legal matters.  Your expertise will help ensure that our institution operates within the legal framework and maintains he highest standards of integrity and compliance. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting Legal Counsel in preparing and reviewing legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
  • Conducting legal research and analysis on regulatory compliance issues
  • Manage and organize legal files, documents, and records
  • Coordinate with internal departments to gather necessary information for legal matters.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations affecting the financial industry.
  • Provide administrative support to the legal department as needed. 

What is the schedule?  Our hours for this position are 8:00 am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday.  Sometimes giving top-notch member service may require a little overtime, but we value work-life-balance and do our best to limit this.

 

Does your skillset and experience line up?  For this role, we are looking for someone who:

  • Bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies, Legal Studies, or related field preferred
  • Paralegal certification from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in a financial institution or law firm.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Must maintain a professional, courteous, and friendly atmosphere for members and co-workers
  • Must have very strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with keen attention to detail.
