Position Purpose

The Material Handler plays a key role in supporting production operations by preparing, moving, and organizing materials and components throughout the manufacturing process. This position ensures that materials are available to meet production schedules and that components are handled safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards. The Material Handler supports multiple work areas, contributing to smooth workflow and on-time production across the facility.

Essential Functions

  • Rotate through tasks such as pulling, staging, and delivering materials or components to production lines.
  • Operate material handling equipment and tools safely to move products and supplies as directed.
  • Identify, label, and organize materials using product codes, color markings, or identification tags.
  • Assist in assembling or preparing components for production, following established quality and process standards.
  • Ensure materials are properly aligned, secured, or bonded as required for the next stage of production.
  • Inspect materials and components for visible defects or damage prior to use.
  • Maintain accurate records of material usage, scrap, and movement to support inventory control and traceability.
  • Maintain an organized and clean work area, ensuring tools and materials are properly stored and accessible.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, production leads, and supervisors to coordinate material needs and report issues.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), material handling, and PPE requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities and support efforts to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Support company values and continuous improvement efforts by performing additional tasks as assigned by management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the job.
