The ideal candidate brings 1ā2 years of welding experience in an industrial setting, with AWS Certification and the ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T notation. Experience with robotic welders and troubleshooting builds using CMM reports are critical factors in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and weld ā Set up and use MIG/TIG welding equipment to weld basic GTAW and GMAW mild steel joints.
- Assemble welded products ā Assemble exhaust assemblies, racks, and prototyping fixtures.
- Perform 1st piece layouts ā Perform 1st piece table layouts and troubleshoot builds using CMM reports to get a good first piece.
- Maintain job documentation ā Maintain accurate job documentation for all production runs.
- Load and run robot welder ā Load and run robot welder in auto and make needed repairs on assemblies after robot.
- Investigate and correct issues ā Investigate and correct issues that are found during a build and/or inspection of an assembly.
- Ensure products meet requirements ā Ensure that products shipped meet internal and customer requirements per CMM reports, blueprints, and AWS specifications.
- Other duties as assigned ā Perform other duties as assigned by the Welding Manager.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED; vocational training preferred
- AWS Certification required
- 1ā2 years of welding experience in an industrial setting
- Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T notation
- Ability to use hand and layout/inspection tools
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Basic problem solving skills
- Forklift license preferred
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds
- This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the shift
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to fumes or airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, moving mechanical parts, industrial equipment, vibration, and loud noise
- No travel required for this position
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
Position Type and Expected Hours:
This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a minimum of 40 hours per week with overtime as needed. Note: days and hours required may vary. Shift premiums are available.
Shifts include:
- 1st Shift ā Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
