Mechanic

Job Summary

Constructs, repairs, restores, and installs structural woodwork and related materials. Duties may include construction, demolition, framing, and drywall installation depending on assigned work area. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

• Performs all tasks common to carpentry craft required to affect a complete installation of services. Performs appropriate tests and/or troubleshoots all systems/projects newly built. Demonstrates ability to read, understand and provide services as outlined on blueprints, architectural drawings, shop drawings, diagrams, sketches, etc. 25 %
• Properly uses assigned equipment. Practices all standard safety practices. Wears appropriate personal safety items when working with electrical saws, drills and other equipment. Proper notification of problems. 25 %
• Consistently leads by example. Inter-disciplinary involvement in problem solving. Informs supervisor of activity status and inability to meet expectations. Readily provides supervisor with new information and suggestions as necessary. 20 %
• Adheres to Medical Center/department guidelines outlining individual responsibility and behavior to represent all parties in a positive manner. Anticipates and/or responds to customer needs. Consistently leads by example. Takes ownership of problems. 15 %
• Assists in maintaining and controlling ongoing inventory of materials and supplies necessary for millwork production and/or construction. Assists in maintaining records to ensure documentation for assigned projects is accurate. 15 %"

Experience

Minimum Required:     
5 years Operations-Carpenter Required.

Education

Minimum Required:     
High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.

Preferred:
2 Years of Trade School in Related Field Preferred.
