Position Purpose
The Operator – Forklift is responsible for the accurate and timely handling of materials, including loading and unloading trailers, while maintaining compliance with safety and operational standards to support production needs and maintaining a well-organized work environment.
Essential Functions
- Safely operate forklifts to transport, stack, and organize materials within the plant and yard.
- Use Material Resource Planning (MRP) systems to process and manage orders accurately.
- Load and unload trailers, ensuring materials are handled with care and placed securely.
- Perform all required forklift tasks, including inspections, reporting, and maintenance of equipment, reporting any issues or defects promptly.
- Maintain a valid forklift license and operate equipment in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Safely operate yard trucks to transport trailers and materials on location premises.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ensure work areas remain organized, clean, and free from hazards.
- Support team members with material handling needs.
- Support company values and continuous improvement efforts by performing additional tasks as assigned by management.
