Job Description:
The Receiving Utility associate is responsible for supporting the receipt, storage, and distribution of incoming materials and supplies needed for manufacturing operations. This role ensures materials are accurately received, verified, inventoried, and delivered to designated locations while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive and unload incoming shipments of raw materials, parts, and supplies.
- Verify quantities and product information against purchase orders, packing slips, and shipping documents.
- Inspect incoming materials for damage or discrepancies and report issues to leadership.
- Label, sort, and store materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Transport materials to production and warehouse areas as needed.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management and inventory systems.
- Assist with cycle counts, inventory audits, and stock replenishment activities.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Keep receiving, storage, and staging areas clean and organized.
- Follow all company safety, quality, and operational procedures.
- Assist with general warehouse and material handling tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous warehouse, receiving, logistics, or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Forklift experience or ability to become forklift certified.
- Basic computer and data entry skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
- Ability to safely operate material handling equipment.
