General Description / Primary Purpose The Institutional Research Analyst, under the direction of an Assistant Director or above, will provide data support for the mission and strategic directions of the university through completion of internal and external data requests and the development and publication of relevant reports for data driven decision making.
Job Function
Uses statistical software (e.g., SPSS or SAS) or programming languages (SQL) to produce aggregate data for dissemination.
Construct effective data displays, including graphs, to communicate key points for succinct and meaningful consumption.
Transform raw data to prepared datasets for analysis and reporting.
Responds to internal and external ad-hoc requests with accuracy and efficiency.
Provide consultation services to academic units in identifying their data needs to meet their stated objectives.
Provide analytical support to other offices as required.
Coordinates the university’s response to external surveys and studies.
Develops and maintains assigned internal publications, reports, and dashboards.
Organizes and leads in conducting research studies and policy analysis on topics that are important to UNF.
Supports internal university consumers in survey best practices and dissemination of surveys through Qualtrics.
Trains institutional constituents on the use of interactive data tools produced by the Office of Institutional Research.
Assists in maintaining the Institutional Research website.
Prepares regular status reports which may include weekly, monthly, annual, and special project status reporting.
Performs special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Marginal Functions
Coordinate activities with University officials at all levels through participation on committees and through consultation.
Create new CMS web pages, update existing pages; test/repair web pages for ADA compliance; and upload accessible documents.
During declared campus emergencies, this position may be required to perform specific job-related duties at a designated off campus location or place of residence.

Required Qualifications
Master's or Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.ÂDepartmental Requirements
- Experience with SQL and Power BI.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with statistical software such as SAS, SPSS, R, or Stata.
- Experience working with large, complex datasets.
- Experience with relational databases.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products.
- Experience with Student Information Systems (e.g., Banner or Workday) or other similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Preferred candidates will have knowledge of higher education reporting, such as IPEDS, and other federal definitions.
- Preferred candidates will have experience working in a higher education setting.
