The Role

As a 1st Grade Teacher, you’ll help students build strong foundations in reading, writing, math, and classroom routines. This entry-level role is designed to launch your career with hands-on experience and clear expectations in a structured school day.

Key responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver standards-based lessons for first grade
- Create a safe, focused classroom environment
- Check student progress and adjust instruction as needed
- Communicate with families and document learning
- Work with grade-level teammates to align instruction

Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Valid teaching certification

Your Typical Day

You’ll be onsite in Jacksonville, Monday through Friday from 7:45am to 3:45pm. Mornings start with student arrival, a quick reset of materials, and a clear plan for the day. You’ll move through core subjects in steady blocks, using small check-ins to see who’s ready to move on and who needs a different approach. During planning time, you’ll prep upcoming lessons, review student work, and coordinate with your grade-level team so you can keep building your skills. Before dismissal, you’ll close out the day with routines that keep families informed and students set up for tomorrow.
