Summary
The Tractor Trailer Mechanic III is responsible for diagnosing and repairing intermediate-level mechanical, electrical, and air system issues with minimal supervision. This role also performs advanced preventative maintenance, ensures DOT compliance, and completes required inspections and certifications to maintain fleet safety and reliability.
 

Major areas of responsibility include:

  • Independently diagnose and repair intermediate-level mechanical, electrical, and air system issues without direct supervision
  • Perform advanced preventative maintenance and component replacements (including brakes, suspensions, air and electrical systems, and tire repair/replacement)
  • Execute annual vehicle inspections and complete brake certifications in accordance with DOT standards
  • Perform related duties as assigned
Skills/Requirements:

High school diploma or GED

 

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb throughout the workday
