Job Title: Cell Procurement Fulfillment Specialist
Department: Purchasing

Reports to: Purchasing

Job Summary:

The Cell Procurement Fulfillment Specialist is responsible for coordinating the procurement, supply planning, order fulfillment, and timely delivery of solar cells and other critical production materials. This position works closely with suppliers, manufacturing, production planning, engineering, quality, logistics, warehouse, and finance teams to ensure materials are available in the correct quantity, quality, and timeframe to support high-volume manufacturing operations. The position also monitors supplier performance, inventory levels, purchase orders, and potential supply-chain risks to prevent production interruptions.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manages the end-to-end procurement and fulfillment process for solar cells and other assigned production materials.
  • Creates, processes, and monitors purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
  • Coordinates supplier order confirmations, production schedules, shipment arrangements, and delivery timelines.
  • Monitors inventory levels, material consumption, production forecasts, open purchase orders, and material requirements.
  • Works closely with production planning and manufacturing teams to align material availability with production schedules.
  • Communicates regularly with domestic and international suppliers regarding order status, capacity, lead times, pricing, delivery schedules, and supply concerns.
  • Tracks inbound shipments and proactively addresses delays, shortages, quantity discrepancies, documentation issues, and other supply interruptions.
  • Collaborates with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure the timely transportation, receipt, inspection, and storage of materials.
  • Partners with engineering and quality teams to review material specifications, Bills of Materials, engineering changes, supplier quality concerns, and material qualification requirements.
  • Supports the evaluation and qualification of alternative materials and suppliers.
  • Analyzes supplier performance using metrics such as on-time delivery, order accuracy, lead time, quality, cost, and responsiveness.
  • Identifies supply-chain risks and develops contingency or recovery plans to maintain production continuity.
  • Supports supplier negotiations, cost-reduction initiatives, inventory optimization, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Maintains accurate supplier, purchasing, inventory, and material-status information in the company’s ERP system.
  • Prepares and distributes reports regarding material availability, supplier performance, purchase-order status, inventory risks, and fulfillment performance.
  • Coordinates with finance and accounts payable teams to resolve invoice, payment, pricing, and purchase-order discrepancies.
  • Ensures procurement activities comply with company policies, contractual requirements, and applicable regulatory and trade requirements.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of procurement, purchasing, material planning, inventory management, supplier management, and order fulfillment.
  • Ability to understand manufacturing processes, production schedules, Bills of Materials, technical specifications, and engineering documentation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, supplier-management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time-management skills with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to communicate and coordinate with suppliers and internal teams across different time zones.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with SAP, Oracle, or another ERP or material requirements planning system is preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese/Mandarin is preferred.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Logistics, or a related field required.
  • An engineering or technical educational background is preferred.
  • Three to five years of experience in procurement, supply chain, material planning, sourcing, supplier management, or order fulfillment within a manufacturing environment required.
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing, semiconductor manufacturing, solar manufacturing, battery manufacturing, or another high-volume advanced manufacturing industry is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with international suppliers or global supply chains is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to access and navigate manufacturing, warehouse, and material-storage areas as needed.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment while entering designated production or warehouse areas.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
