You will be trusted to ensure safety, maintain schedules, and represent the center with professionalism both on and off campus.

Position Overview

The Prime Shift Driver provides safe, timely transportation for students and staff while supporting overall center operations. This role requires consistency, awareness, and a strong commitment to safety.

In addition to driving, you will assist with basic vehicle checks and general support duties to ensure operations run smoothly.

Core Responsibilities

• Transports students by shuttle bus, van, or automobile to vocational sites, medical appointments, recreational activities, and other approved locations
• Ensures the safety and accountability of all passengers during transport
• Maintains accurate and complete trip logs for all vehicle use
• Conducts routine vehicle inspections and reports mechanical issues promptly
• Transports equipment and supplies as needed
• Maintains adherence to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and center policies
• Supports general center operations, including light maintenance tasks when assigned
• Communicates effectively with staff regarding schedules, delays, or issues
• Attends required training sessions
• Models professionalism and reinforces Career Success Standards during all interactions
• Promotes a safe environment free from harassment, intimidation, and disrespect
• Maintains accountability of students, staff, and property
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of six months of related driving or work experience preferred
• Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License with passenger endorsement required
• Acceptable driving record required

Additional Requirements

• Ability to consistently work assigned shift hours
• Reliable transportation to ensure timely arrival to work
• Ability to obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid certification
• Ability to operate basic tools and assist with minor maintenance tasks
• Ability to effectively interact with a diverse student population
• Ability to read and write English fluently
• Strong communication and time management skills
