Summary/Objective
The Finance Manager – Capital Assets position is a mid-level accounting professional that is responsible for reviewing and potentially preparing the monthly financial results for our Capital Equipment and strategic asset performance. They will support the Equipment department in ensuring they have accurate and complete sets of financial information (P&L and Balance Sheet) on a monthly and annual basis.
Essential Functions

Coordinate with the Corporate Controller to develop a long-term CAPEX forecast and strategy that is aligned with Operational objectives.
Maintain banking relationships for CAPEX requirements.
Prepare month-end journal entries related to asset additions, disposals, depreciation, and associated gain / loss.
Prepare a fixed asset roll-forward monthly for executive reporting.
Review leases entered into by the Staff Accountant – Capital Assets to ensure they are in compliance with Accounting Standard Codification 842.
Assist with the month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes
Support external audits by preparing schedules and/or answering auditors’ questions
Prepare and analyze records and reports
Perform account reconciliations
Book monthly activity for related entities
Other
Assist in the development of Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) financing strategies
Participate in special projects, team training and development
Foster and maintain a safe work environment
Assist with the leadership and development of project team members

Supervisory Requirements
You will be managing one staff accountant with potential for additional headcount tied to operational growth.
Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely involves standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
The individual will report to either our Jacksonville Headquarters or Tampa regional office.
Physical Demands

The employee regularly sits for long periods of time at a desk in front of a computer screen. The employee occasionally may be required to lift, push, pull or carry objects; typically, when filing is needed.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands; and reach with hands and arm. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time exempt position. This position sometimes requires long hours, holidays and weekend work.
Travel
The role prefers travel (20-30%) to project sites to partake in project audits that include review of the project equipment schedule and their costs. Accommodation is made for virtual attendance.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business, or Finance or comparable Business Administration Certification programs.
A certification in one of the following disciplines: Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
The certification requirement can be waived if the individual has over 5 years of work experience in the heavy civil construction industry.
Preferred Education and Experience
Master’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance.
Public Accounting Experience.
1-2 Years of Construction Experience.
Experience with ASC 842 Lease Accounting.
Additional Eligibility Requirements
Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment.
