Responsibilities of Floor Technician:

This job requires the use of specialized power equipment.

  • Performs preventative maintenance checks on all equipment prior to use.
  • Secure the work area and posts proper safety notices for other users of the space prior to beginning work.
  • Floor care, including routine mopping (dry and damp), buffing and burnishing on hard surface floors and stairwells.
  • Vacuuming, shampooing, bonneting, and extracting carpets, stairwells and upholstery.
  • Maintenance of floor care equipment.
  • Wall cleaning.
  • Dusting (high and low).
  • Periodic cleaning of restrooms, offices, or classrooms (as assigned by supervisor).

Qualifications for Floor Technician:

  • Sufficient education to demonstrate functional literacy.
  • Prior floor tech experience in an institutional environment preferred.

Qualifications

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS• Sufficient education to demonstrate functional literacy.• Prior floor tech experience in an institutional environment preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENTWorking in an institutional environment, employee may be required to sit, bend, stoop, see, talk and hear. May occasionally lift or move items of up to 75 pounds. Employee is occasionally exposed to blood or other bodily fluids, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. In compliance with applicable law, reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
