WFOX/WJAX TV Jacksonville is looking for an IT Engineer!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

IT Support

Provide IT support for computers, servers, and software used by staff
Assist with network connectivity and IP-based systems used in production and broadcasting.
Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and provide user support as needed
Help maintain data storage, backups, and system security practices
Design, configure and maintain IT and Broadcast Server Systems

Broadcast Operations

Support the setup, operation, and maintenance of television broadcast and production equipment
Assist with live broadcasts and recorded productions to ensure reliable on-air performance
Monitor equipment and systems to identify and resolve technical issues
Perform routine maintenance and assist with equipment upgrades
Help document technical processes and workflows

Collaboration & Support

Work closely with production, engineering, and IT teams to support daily operations
Communicate technical issues clearly to non-technical staff
Coordinate with vendors and service providers when necessary
Participate in on-call or after-hours support as required for broadcasts

Minimum Qualifications

An associates degree or training in Broadcast Engineering, Electronics, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
Basic knowledge of computer systems, networking, and troubleshooting
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to lift and move broadcast or IT equipment
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends as needed
Comfortable working in studio, control room, and office environments
Onsite essential role

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or information systems preferred
Familiarity with IP-based broadcast or production systems
2+ years’ experience working with television production or broadcast environments
Relevant technical certifications (broadcast or IT-related)
Experience supporting live events or time-sensitive operations
