About The Position

 Experienced Family Practice Physician needed for a locum tenens assignment in Florida. This 60-day opportunity, starting 06/02/2025, involves working at a clinic serving the Brighton Reservation in Okeechobee, FL. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with typical family practice duties including checkups, treating minor injuries, and managing common illnesses such as colds, coughs, and flu. This role offers the potential for extension and requires an active Florida medical license.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Conduct routine checkups and physical examinations

• Diagnose and treat common illnesses and minor injuries

• Manage chronic conditions

• Provide preventive care and health education

• Perform basic medical procedures as needed

• Order and interpret diagnostic tests

• Prescribe medications and treatments

• Refer patients to specialists when necessary

• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using Nextgen EMR

• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care

Additional Information:

• Must be licensed to practice medicine in Florida

• Experience working with diverse patient populations preferred

• Familiarity with Nextgen EMR system a plus

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required

• Ability to adapt to the unique needs of a reservation community

• Potential for assignment extension
