Our busy, patient-focused Spine & Pain practice is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Medical Assistant to join our team. We are committed to providing exceptional care to patients suffering from acute and chronic pain while fostering a supportive and professional work environment. Responsibilities Room patients and obtain vital signs Document medical history and update patient records Assist providers during patient visits and procedures Prepare examination and procedure rooms Coordinate referrals, imaging, and prior authorizations as needed Administer injections and medications within scope of practice Educate patients on treatment plans and follow-up care Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) Ensure compliance with HIPAA and office protocols Qualifications Medical Assistant certification preferred (not required if experienced) Previous experience in pain management, orthopedics, neurology, or a specialty practice is a plus Excellent communication and customer service skills Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Experience with EMR systems preferred Team-oriented with a positive, professional attitude What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Paid time off Health benefits (if applicable) Retirement plan (if applicable) Opportunities for professional growth Supportive team environment If you are passionate about helping patients improve their quality of life and enjoy working in a fast-paced medical practice, we'd love to hear from you. QualificationsQualifications: Education: High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED), medical assistant diploma from an accredited vocational institution, or a community college course in medical assisting. Appropriate certificate indicating passing grade for specific specialty if working in specialty department; e.g., pediatric medical assistant exam. Experience: Minimum three (3) years of recent experience working in a medical facility as a medical assistant and documented evidence of externship completed in a medical office. Electrocardiogram (EKG), vital signs, venipuncture, capillary, and injection current experience. Other Requirements: Current documentation of medical assistant certification preferred. Must possess a current CPR certification and current health records with the appropriate immunizations to work in the health care field (hepatitis B and tuberculosis). Performance Requirements: Knowledge: Knowledge of health care field and medical office protocols/procedures. Knowledge of specific assisting tasks related to particular medical practice. Knowledge of information that must be conveyed to patients and families. Skills: Skill in performing medical assistance tasks appropriately. Skill in tact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions. Skill in understanding patient education needs by effectively sharing information with patients and families. Abilities: Ability to learn and retain information regarding patient care procedures. Ability to project a pleasant and professional image. Ability to plan, prioritize, and complete delegated tasks.
