About the Role:

The Medical Receptionist Floater for the Eastern Region plays a critical role in ensuring smooth and efficient front-desk operations across multiple healthcare facilities. This position requires adaptability and excellent organizational skills to provide consistent, high-quality patient service in various clinic environments. The primary goal is to manage patient check-ins, appointment scheduling, and communication with medical staff while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. By floating between locations, the receptionist supports clinics during peak times, staff absences, or special events, ensuring uninterrupted patient care and administrative workflow. Ultimately, this role contributes to a positive patient experience and the overall operational success of the healthcare network in the Eastern Region.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a medical receptionist or front-desk role within a healthcare setting.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare staff.
  • Ability to travel and work at multiple clinic locations within the Eastern Region as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a multi-site healthcare organization or as a floater receptionist.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance verification processes.
  • Bilingual abilities, particularly in Spanish or other commonly spoken languages in the region.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle high-volume patient interactions with professionalism and empathy.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and check in patients promptly and courteously at multiple healthcare facilities within the Eastern Region.
  • Manage appointment scheduling, cancellations, and rescheduling using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Verify patient insurance information and collect co-pays or payments as required.
  • Answer incoming calls, respond to patient inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate medical personnel.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA and other privacy regulations.
  • Coordinate with clinical and administrative staff to facilitate smooth patient flow and resolve scheduling conflicts.
  • Adapt quickly to different clinic environments, policies, and team dynamics while maintaining consistent service quality.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and data entry as needed during float assignments.
