Location: Onsite in Jacksonville, FL 

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm

Salary range: $19.00 - $22.15 per hour, depending upon experience

 

What work will you perform?

As an Owner Operator Support Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting Landstar’s independent Owner-Operators, known as Business Capacity Owners (BCOs), as they begin their partnership with Landstar. You will serve as a primary resource for BCOs during their first 120 days, helping them understand Landstar’s systems, tools, processes, and revenue expectations while providing guidance and resolving day-to-day operational questions. Through frequent and consistent contact, you will educate and support BCOs as they acclimate to the Landstar system and build a successful independent trucking business. You will conduct oral and written reviews at 45- and 90-day intervals to assess progress, address challenges, and provide additional coaching when needed. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, relationship-building, and helping independent business owners succeed in a fast-paced transportation environment.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Initiate and document first contact with newly contracted Owner Operators in a timely manner
  • Perform oral and written review with Owner Operator at 45- and 90-day intervals
  • Gather critical information pertaining to new Owner Operators to promote retention
  • Track and measure weekly gross/net revenue
  • Handle incoming calls from Owner Operators on a variety of questions
  • Provide guidance on load planning and optimization; resolve concerns and coach drivers on best methods for revenue growth
  • Monitor inactivity to ensure Owner Operators receive timely counsel on barriers for generating revenue
  • Meet with Owner Operators as necessary to provide solutions for existing or potential problems

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)  
  • One year of administrative customer support experience  

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • 1 year call center experience
  • 1 year coaching/training experience  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong data entry skills
  • Excellent geographical knowledge
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Proficient math skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to perform quality work with minimal supervision
  • Team collaboration skills
  • Self-motivation
