Pricing Analyst
Purpose of Job
Support the development and execution of pricing, yield management, and commercial strategies that maximize revenue opportunities, support corporate growth objectives, and drive long-term business performance. This role partners with Sales, Operations, Finance, and Customer Service teams to provide market insights, pricing analysis, contract support, and strategic recommendations that enhance profitability and customer value.
What You'll Do
- Analyze market trends, customer activity, competitor pricing, and business performance to identify revenue growth opportunities.
- Develop and maintain pricing strategies, contract terms, incentive programs, discounts, and commercial initiatives.
- Prepare and distribute reports on revenue performance, cargo volumes, margins, contract status, and pricing trends.
- Provide data-driven recommendations that support annual business plans and long-term strategic initiatives.
- Monitor industry trends and competitive activities to ensure pricing strategies remain competitive and profitable.
- Support customer pricing negotiations, contract reviews, and sales initiatives through meaningful analysis and commercial insights.
- Maintain accurate pricing, tariff, and contract information within company systems and databases.
- Respond to customer and internal pricing inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Review and audit pricing documentation, quotations, and contracts for accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes and support customer satisfaction.
- Participate in customer meetings, sales calls, and strategic discussions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and record retention standards.
- Promote a culture of safety, integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
What You'll Bring
- 3+ years of experience in pricing, yield management, revenue management, transportation, logistics, shipping, supply chain, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capability to interpret data and provide actionable recommendations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Experience working with databases, pricing systems, or tariff management tools is preferred.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Information
This position works independently with limited supervision and exercises sound judgment when providing recommendations that influence pricing decisions, customer agreements, and overall business performance. The role regularly handles confidential business and customer information and requires a high level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
Sedentary work involving regular use of computers, phones, and office equipment. Visual requirements include extensive work with reports, spreadsheets, presentations, and data analysis tools.
