Job Description:

Johnson & Johnson MedTech is recruiting for a Reliability Technician IV, located in Jacksonville, Florida. Johnson & Johnson Vision is committed to improving eye health by developing innovative products and technologies that help people see better, connect better, and live better.

The Reliability Technician IV supports manufacturing equipment reliability, asset availability, and operational continuity across electromechanical production systems. This position performs routine and non-routine maintenance, troubleshooting, predictive maintenance, and reliability improvement activities while supporting quality, safety, compliance, and continuous improvement expectations in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet all requirements of the PM & Reliability Technician III position.
  • Perform routine and non-routine maintenance activities to support production equipment reliability, asset availability, and manufacturing readiness.
  • Apply Root Cause Problem Solving (RCPS), including A3 methodology, to reduce recurring equipment failures and support sustainable corrective actions.
  • Analyze maintenance data to identify trends, strengthen maintenance strategies, and improve repair effectiveness.
  • Support Operator Asset Care initiatives that improve equipment ownership, operating discipline, and process stability.
  • Perform predictive maintenance activities, including thermography and ultrasonics, and document findings in accordance with site requirements.
  • Apply working knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma improvement methods, including Yellow Belt or Green Belt principles, where applicable.
  • Support maintenance planning, scheduling, asset management, and reliability improvement processes.
  • Train and mentor Technician II through Technician IV personnel on maintenance, reliability, and equipment support practices.
  • Maintain required Johnson & Johnson site electrical safety qualifications.
  • Comply with applicable Environmental, Health, Safety, Quality, FDA, ISO, and GMP requirements while performing assigned work.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma required; Associate Degree or Vocational/Technical Certificate(s) in relevant field highly preferred

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • Six (6) to eight (8) years of college, trade, or military training in a technical field, or equivalent industrial maintenance experience with electromechanical systems, PLCs, and pneumatics.
  • Line qualified or PM qualified across multiple generational technologies (GTs)
  • Demonstrated proficiency and mastery for at least four (4) of the following requirements: o Pneumatics Systems (includes solenoids, cylinders, positioners and actuators) o Applicable Predictive Maintenance (PdM) technology (including, but not limited to: ultrasonics, thermography, vibration analysis, etc.) o Servo system maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting o Injection Molding maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting o Sterilizer Operation and Maintenance o Vision Systems o Solvent Hydration Modules o Dosing Systems o Robotic Systems o Heat Seal Systems
  • Demonstrates Johnson & Johnson’s Leadership Imperatives and Credo
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot electromechanical equipment.
  • Understanding of FDA/ISO/GMP regulations.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Physical demands of the position include stooping, walking, pulling, light lifting (up to 23 lbs.), grasping, hearing, visual acuity, kneeling, reaching, pushing, talking, standing, and crawling.

Preferred:

  • At least six (6) years of experience in an industrial maintenance role emphasizing electromechanical systems, PLCs, and pneumatics.
