Job DetailsJob Location: Sunbelt - Jacksonville, FL 32257Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $17.78 - $27.50 HourlyJob Shift: DayJOB SUMMARY The Gate Installer is responsible for installing gates for Sunbelt Gated Access Systems. The Gate Installer is also responsible for communicating needs and progress effectively with the Fabrication Manager and Installation Manager. This is in addition to gate fabrication assistance when needed.  RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Study specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout to be knowledgeable about dimensions and materials required Install gates on site, ensuring the highest precision, care, and quality Retrieve damaged gates for repairs Drop off and retrieve gates from Subcontractors Inform the Fabrication Manager about problems and potential problems as early as possible Review plans and job site prior to the start of project to collect data and ensure necessary materials are ordered, equipment needed is available, ensuring Fabrication Manager is notified of any noteworthy obstacles to the project plan The Gate Installer works with the Installation Manager to ensure the Safety Program and required Administrative Documents are executed properly Be proactive in continued education and on-the-job hours needed to any necessary licenses or certifications and maintain it once it is acquired. Order materials as needed, getting approval from Installation Manager for large and/or unexpected costs Communicate swiftly and effectively with office staff through phone and email Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete gate units Repair damaged gates using the correct tools and equipment Set up and operate fabricating machines and assemble metal components Communicate professionally and effectively with everyone on site while always maintaining a respectful and professional demeanor as a representative of Sunbelt Gated Access Systems Keep a detailed and regularly updated list of open items, materials needed, jobs’ needs and questions for Fabrication Manager and/or the Installation Manager, and any other miscellaneous issues organized and easy to reference Perform other related duties as assigned by the Installation Manager Install gates on site, ensuring the highest precision, care, and quality Retrieve damaged gates for repairs Drop off and retrieve gates from Subcontractors  REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS The Gate Installer reports to the Fabrication Manager  REQUIRED EXPEREINCE AND QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or Equivalent Certification or Trade School Diploma in Welding, Electrical and/or Mechanical Work -preferred Valid Driver’s License Safety-toed work boots Ability, skill, and knowledge to use a variety of construction and welding equipment Minimum 1-year relevant experience in the Construction, welding, and/or fabrication industries- preferred Ability to read blueprints- preferred Ability to drive large truck with trailer attached Proficiency in MS Office (specifically MS Excel, MS Word) and/or Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Calendar, and Gmail) Proficiency in Field Service Management Software- preferred Skill, Knowledge, and Abilities Demonstrates good judgment and decision-making Performs all assigned duties in an independent manner with little supervision, and assists others as needed Seeks guidance and direction as necessary for performance of duties Ability to communicate with and manage people effectively Offers possible solutions for problems that arise Respecting the confidentiality of Company, customer, and personnel information Maintains cooperative working relationships with all staff members Demonstrates ability to tactfully handle difficult situations Makes the best use of time Consistently shows ability to recognize and deal with priorities Shows initiative Not taking excessive and unscheduled time off Always provides proper notification and advance notice of absence Reporting to work on time each day, after lunch breaks, etc., and not leaving early Assumes responsibility for staying aware of changes in company policies and procedures Maintains a well-groomed, professional appearance, appropriate for the position and situation Driving all company vehicles with the utmost safety and professionalism, as you are an ambassador of the business while you’re driving Maintaining the work area in a safe and orderly manner Performing other duties and tasks assigned from time to time by the Fabrication Manager  PHYCIAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIROMENT Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, walking, bending. Must be able to lift to 80 pounds at a time. Will be exposed to extreme heat and some wind and rain when performing work outdoors. Some work is in the fabrication area which is not a climate-controlled area. Driving to work sites, Sunbelt Headquarters, and vendors for materials and equipment within a 600-mile radius of Jacksonville.
