Responsibilities

How you’ll make an impact in this role  

  • Supports facilities operations by managing building systems, maintenance, grounds, energy use, and equipment inventories to ensure safe and efficient operations.  
  • Oversees staffing activities including scheduling, training, and daily work assignments to maintain appropriate coverage and team performance.  
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory and safety standards (e.g., TJC), including conducting audits, maintaining documentation, and supporting inspections.  
  • Manages vendor and contractor relationships, including project coordination, bid processes, and monitoring performance for repairs, maintenance, and capital projects.  
  • Supports budget management by reviewing purchase requests, coordinating with vendors and Purchasing, and ensuring alignment with financial and operational goals.  
  • Drives process improvement and operational efficiency while maintaining strong communication and customer service with internal stakeholders, vendors, and leadership. 

Qualifications

What minimum requirements you’ll need 

 

Education:  

  • Requirement of High school diploma or equivalent 

 

Experience:  

  • Five years’ experience in the maintenance and operation of a physical plant and/or building maintenance for a large facility 

 

Preferred Experience: 

  • Three years’ experience in a large, multi-campus healthcare system.
  • Three years’ supervisory experience.  
  • Knowledge and experience with Joint Commission, NFPA, state and federal regulations for healthcare facilities.
