What you'll be doing:
Lead a World-Class Marine Testing Operation
- Direct all activities at Yamaha's waterfront testing facility, ensuring safe and efficient execution of testing programs.
- Plan workloads, allocate resources, and maintain operational readiness to support product development schedules.
- Manage site assets including boats, trucks, equipment, tools, and facility infrastructure.
Lead and Develop a High-Performing Team
- Coach, mentor, and develop a team of skilled technicians and marine professionals.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Drive technical training and career development to build future capability.
Manage a Premier Waterfront Facility
- Oversee daily operations of Yamaha's marina, offices, and testing grounds.
- Coordinate contractors, maintenance activities, and facility improvements.
- Maintain preventive maintenance programs, operational procedures, and emergency response plans.
Drive Operational Excellence
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, environmental, and corporate requirements.
- Lead Environmental Health & Safety initiatives and promote a strong safety culture.
- Manage OPEX and CAPEX budgets, forecasting, annual planning, and internal reporting.
- Protect facility security, confidentiality, and Yamaha intellectual property.
Represent Yamaha
- Serve as the face of the facility within Yamaha and the local marine community.
- Participate in on-water testing activities and real-world product evaluations.
- Promote Yamaha's reputation for innovation, quality, and performance

Who Thrives in This Role

What you need to be successful:
- A bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to inspire, develop, and build high-performing teams.
- A strong background in facility, operations, or test-site management with responsibility for people, budgets, assets, and day-to-day operations.
- An understanding of the product development process and what it takes to bring innovative products from concept to reality.
- Experience within the marine industry is highly valued, along with a genuine passion for boating and life on the water.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, environmental standards, and safety practices that support world-class operations.
- Strong business and organizational skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- The ability to build relationships across diverse teams, cultures, and business functions, both domestically and internationally.
- A confident and adaptable leadership style that thrives in fast-moving environments where priorities can change quickly.
