Job Description: Quality Technician
Position Overview
The Quality Technician will play an essential role in ensuring that manufacturing processes adhere to the highest quality standards. This position requires a keen eye for detail, an analytical mindset, and a strong commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections and tests on incoming materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Document inspection results and track defect trends to identify areas needing improvement.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to analyze quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain and update quality documentation, including quality manuals and procedures.
- Assist in the development and execution of quality control plans and audits.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall quality performance and efficiency.
- Train and mentor other staff on quality assurance and quality control processes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment and adhere to all safety protocols.
Essential Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate’s degree in Quality Assurance, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong understanding of quality assurance principles and practices.
- Proficient in using measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills for effective problem solving.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Desired Experience
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in quality control or a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards or similar quality assurance frameworks.
- Experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and statistical process control methods is a plus.
- Knowledge of military hardware standards or related industries will be advantageous.
