About the Role:

The Meat Processing Operator plays a critical role in the production and preparation of meat products within a processing facility. This position is responsible for operating machinery and equipment used in the cutting, trimming, deboning, and packaging of meat to ensure products meet quality and safety standards. The operator must maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and company protocols to guarantee the integrity and hygiene of all products processed. Attention to detail and efficiency are essential, as the role directly impacts production timelines and product consistency. Ultimately, the Meat Processing Operator contributes to delivering safe, high-quality meat products to customers while supporting overall operational goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a meat processing or food production environment is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety procedures.
  • Physical capability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in food safety or HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points).
  • Experience operating industrial meat processing machinery.
  • Knowledge of USDA regulations and compliance standards.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including early mornings, evenings, or weekends.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain meat processing equipment such as slicers, grinders, and packaging machines in accordance with safety and quality standards.
  • Perform cutting, trimming, deboning, and portioning of meat products following specific guidelines and customer specifications.
  • Inspect raw and processed meat for quality, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment to meet regulatory and company hygiene standards.
  • Document production activities, including batch records and equipment maintenance logs, to support traceability and quality control.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize workflow and address any operational issues promptly.
  • Adhere to all workplace safety protocols to minimize risk of injury and ensure a safe working environment.

Skills:

The Meat Processing Operator uses technical skills daily to operate and troubleshoot processing equipment, ensuring smooth production flow. Attention to detail is critical when inspecting meat products to maintain quality and safety standards. 2nd Shift 1:30pm- 12am OT can sometimes be mandatory
