The College of Integrated Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater at Rock County seeks multiple mathematics Lecturers for the 2026 fall semester (Lecturer, TL020).

These will be fixed-term appointments. Reappointments for subsequent terms is dependent upon the needs of the University, funding, staffing requirements, enrollment, and external forces. For information on fixed-term contracts, please see UW System Admin Policy 1250: Job Security.

Courses that are to be taught will include:

MAT 90 – Basic Mathematics

MAT 91 and MAT 95 – Elementary Algebra

MAT 103 – Beginning and Intermediate Algebra

MAT 108 – Quantitative Reasoning

MAT 110 – College Algebra

MAT 113 – Trigonometry

MAT 215 – Mathematics for Teachers I

MAT 216 – Mathematics for Teachers II

MAT 210 – Topics in Finite Mathematics

MAT 221 – Calculus and Analytic Geometry I

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The selected candidate, in addition to teaching responsibilities, will hold appropriate office hours, attend orientation activities, and perform required course administration.  All students, faculty, and staff are required to ensure their materials are digitally accessible and utilize standard technology platforms supported by UW-Whitewater. Examples include, but are not limited to, Navigate, Canvas, and Microsoft Office applications – including Outlook, which is essential for university email communications and scheduling.

DEPARTMENT INFORMATION:

The Department of Integrated Studies is the singular department within the College of Integrated Studies located on the Rock County campus of the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater in Janesville, Wisconsin.  Started in 1966, the campus has approximately 850 students and offers courses in many disciplines including natural sciences, social sciences, humanities, and fine arts.  Learn more about UW-Whitewater's Rock County campus here: https://www.uww.edu/rock

CONDITIONS OF APPOINTMENT:

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance
  • Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
  • Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations

Compensation:

Salary is based on a 9-month full-time (100% FTE) contract of $50,000 dependent on number of courses taught as well as commensurate with the candidate's education, related experience, and qualifications.

  • A Master's Degree in a related field and 18 graduate credit hours in mathematics

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preference will be given to candidates with successful college course teaching experience.
