Job DetailsJob Location: FLA-Pasco County Domestic Violence Shelter - Port Richey, FL 34668Position Type: Full Time RegularEducation Level: Associate DegreeSalary Range: $16.07 - $18.08 HourlyJob Category: Case ManagementSchedule/Hours: Full-Time, 35 hours/weekly Pay rate: $16.07/hour - $ 18.08/ hour  This position is responsible for:  This is a full-time position working approximately 35 hours a week in a domestic violence shelter. Successful completion of Domestic Violence Core Competency training within 90 days of employment and attends at least 16 hours of continuing education in domestic violence to maintain State of Florida Core Competency Certification is required.  Key Responsibilities:  Provides crisis intervention through telephone interviews, individual, and group counseling.  Orients new clients to the program, helps survivors with crisis counseling and safety planning, and prepares case records to facilitate case management, records daily services.  Responds to emergencies in a calm manner and initiates appropriate corrective action in accordance with established policy and procedures.  Assists survivors of domestic violence by providing referrals for legal assistance.   Performs housekeeping duties as needed to ensure cleanliness of the shelter. Distributes towels, linens, personal hygiene items, or other items as needed by residents.   Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:  Ability to meet attendance requirements.  Ability to read, write and communicate the English language.  Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing.  Ability to effectively and efficiently work on multiple cases at the same time without becoming frustrated or disorganized.  Ability to drive a vehicle in order to serve as an advocate for victims and to transport victims to appointments related to service plans.  Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.  Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.  WORKING CONDITIONS:  Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.  Work requires travel throughout the county in order to serve as an advocate for victims of domestic violence.  Work requires ability to work additional hours outside of standard schedule and some holidays as needed to ensure proper coverage of emergency shelter.  Employee Benefits:  Health, Dental and Vision Insurance  Paid Time Off  Employee Retirement  Life insurance and more! WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOUEducation and experience:  Associates degree in a human service-related field, sociology, psychology, counseling, social work, criminology or related field; AND  two years’ experience working with victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault OR  Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.   Licenses and Certifications:  Successful completion of Domestic Violence Core Competency training within 90 days of employment.  Valid State driver’s license may be required.  Victim Practitioner Certification Trianing-40 Hours completed after hire    *This position requires a level 2 background screening.
