Diesel Engine – POD 80 Block Machining

Job Overview: As a member of the Diesel Division in POD 90 Block Machining you are primarily responsible for a variety of tasks including but not limited to repairing parts and creating new, either in groups of individually. Machinists must prepare by checking specifications and blueprints of the job. Associates will calculate how to shape the piece of metal or other material that is being worked on and decide what tools are necessary. Machinists place work pieces on the tool of choice and set the controls to ensure precision cuts. While the machine is working the Associate will watch carefully for any problems and monitor the speed and heat of the machine.

Schedule:

• Monday - Friday 6:30am-3:00pm
• Overtime available

Qualifications: 

• Associate must be detail oriented and able to maintain focus on job tasks. Associate must be able to use a computer and have suitable math skills to complete job functions.
• Hands-on position
• Repair machinery parts and create new parts.
• Prepare by checking specifications and blueprint of job.
• Machinists place work piece on desired tool and sets controls for cuts.
• Watch carefully as the machine operates to check for problems, heat of machine, and speed.
• The ability to lift, bend, push, pull and move materials up to 50lbs All hoist assist. 
• The ability to stand or walk an entire shift (can be approx... 8-10 hours)
• The ability to use handheld tools such as Battery impacts and drills, hammer, punches.
• Standing: Continuously
• Walking: Continuously
• Sitting: Never
• Stooping (forward leaning): Occasionally.
• Reaching/Working Overhead: Occasionally

Salary and Benefits:

• Starting rate $20.00 + based on experience.
