Position Title: Processing Supervisor
Reports To: Assistant Manager
Department: Operations
Position Purpose and Objectives
The Processing Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily activities of the production team, ensuring company standards are maintained across all areas of production. This role oversees daily production goals, ensuring fast, accurate, and efficient processing while conducting hands-on audits and quality control checks. The supervisor actively trains, coaches, and develops team members, setting the standard for donor experience, productivity, and customer service in alignment with America's Thrift Stores' Core Values.
This position is primarily scheduled Monday through Friday during daytime business hours. While the regular schedule is Monday–Friday, occasional flexibility may be required to support business needs, special projects, training, or store operations.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct the daily activities of the production team.
- Manage inventory tracking systems to monitor deliveries and stock levels.
- Analyze inventory levels and anticipate shortages or issues, taking proactive steps to ensure sufficient stock.
- Communicate daily production goals and progress to team members.
- Assist in the recruitment, selection, onboarding, and training of team members.
- Schedule team members according to the store's labor requirements.
- Perform all tasks required of Processing Team Members as needed.
- Regularly observe, coach, recognize, and develop team members to improve performance.
- Maintain high standards for merchandise quality, pricing, freshness, and shop-ability.
- Support the General Manager with sales initiatives, promotions, and operational programs.
- Assist donors in accordance with company service standards.
- Foster a respectful, positive, and values-driven work environment.
- Utilize open communication to encourage feedback and continuous improvement.
- Address employee concerns and escalate issues to the Assistant Store Manager or General Manager when appropriate.
- Safeguard company assets and confidential information.
- Promote loss prevention by following company policies and procedures.
- Maintain a safe work environment by ensuring compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
- Oversee production operations in the absence of the Assistant Store Manager.
- Make sound operational decisions when store leadership is unavailable.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of experience in a supervisory, team lead, or key holder role in retail, production, warehouse, or industrial processing.
- Basic math, reading comprehension, and computer skills.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members.
- Ability to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Successfully pass a background check, motor vehicle check, and drug screen.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Bilingual preferred.

Physical Demands
- Frequently: Carry up to 50 lbs., push and pull up to 25 lbs., lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders up to 14 feet, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, handle materials, and distinguish odors.
- Frequently: Walk on tile and concrete surfaces, bend, reach at waist and overhead levels, and perform repetitive movements.
- Continuously: Stand, talk, hear, and see throughout the workday.
Work Schedule & Environment
- Regular Schedule: Monday through Friday, primarily daytime hours.
- Occasional Flexibility: May occasionally work weekends, evenings, or holidays as business needs, training, inventory, or special events require.
- Work is performed both inside the store in semi-controlled temperatures and outdoors while unloading donations, with exposure to varying weather conditions
