This application is open to Federal Work Study (FWS)-eligible students as well as non-FWS students. Fifty percent of the available positions are reserved for FWS students.
Job Summary
The student media specialist works for The Legacy, Lindenlink, KCLC or LUTV, and performs duties such as (video/audio) editing, layout design, writing, taking photographs that enable content to be distributed to the Lindenwood media outlets by designated deadlines. At LUTV and KCLC they will assist in the production of television and radio programs using skills such as audio mixing, camera and graphics ops and technical direction. They must also maintain confidentiality as it pertains to the HIPPA Act.

Job Responsibilities
- Supports the mission of the University and serves as an ambassador of the Q2 culture of service excellence
- Models, supports, and holds others accountable to the University’s values
- Proofreads university publications for consistency, style, and accuracy
- Writes and edits news stories, gathering information through research, interviews, and observations
- Collaborates with The Legacy and Lindenlink teams to manage article and advertisement placement, ensuring all advertising commitments are met
- Assists with video production, including studio, sports, and field productions
- Sets up, operates, and breaks down television and digital cinema equipment
- Handles post-production editing for media from various sources
- Specializes in reporting or production areas, such as news, sports, opinion, features, or fine arts
- Determines best practices for press release submissions in coordination with staff and student media teams
- Organizes media and content, ensuring alignment with Lindenwood and industry standards
- Assists with layout design, including cropping and article placement, to meet publication deadlines
- Attends regular team meetings and meets all deadlines
- Employs safe work practices to protect equipment and personnel
Job may require other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications – An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. Additional requirements may be designated by position.
- Currently enrolled at Lindenwood University
- Good academic and financial standing with the university
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities – May be representative, but not all inclusive, of the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform this job competently.

- Strong attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, Adobe Premier, and Audition or Avid Media Composer
