  1. Sales Activities:
    • Meet established marketing plan goals and achieve annual sales revenue and membership growth objectives by effectively promoting and closing prospective sales opportunities.
    • Must generate robust sales activities including self-generated marketing and email campaigns, outbound calls to assigned existing lead lists.
    • Perform quick and efficient transaction fulfillment of telephone calls or emails from prospective Medicare Advantage members.
    • Educates prospective members about HMSA Medicare Advantage products, industry trends and the impact of these trends on cost.
    • Document all prospect inquiries, outcomes, and follow up on sales enrollment opportunities via the telephone or in writing.
    • Prepare proposals for new Medicare Advantage plans.
    • Support phone and in-person inquiries for Medicare Sales during annual enrollment period.
    • Meets goals as established in the sales plan and contributes to meeting annual sales revenue and membership growth objectives.
    • Plans, coordinates, and facilitates individual and group sales and pre-retirement planning seminars throughout the year.
    • Intake and resolve member servicing inquiries in real time whenever possible.
  2. Relationships
    • Serve as the "face of HMSA" to provide HMSA products to Medicare plan customers.
    • Manages internal and external customer relationships to ensure that their needs are identified and addressed.
    • Provide input to the collaborative planning departments for marketing strategy development.
    • Works closely with Medicare Sales team so we present a consistent message to the community, our members and prospective members, building brand recognition for Medicare Advantage products in the community.
    • Educates groups and individuals about HMSA senior products, industry trends and the impact of these trends on cost, products, and services.
    • Seeks, identifies, and coordinates opportunities to promote community awareness of HMSA Medicare Advantage plans.
    • Collaborates with other departments in support of corporate initiatives and compliance centered activities.
  3. Administrative
    • Maintain accurate records of all account activity in Salesforce and provide management with a weekly report on sales opportunities, proposals, sales activities, and servicing issues.
    • Provides management with a weekly report of all sales activities as well as customer and community interaction.
    • Works with the AMS Senior Plans Unit to provide any documentation that is required by CMS to keep workflows, reports, and data current and relevant.
  4. Neighborhood Center Support and Industry knowledge
    • Support Neighborhood Center as a backup support staff for customer walk-ins as needed.
    • Actively maintains an understanding of the drivers and trends within HMSA and the healthcare industry that affect the senior marketplace and help shape prospective members buying decisions.
    • Advocates and speaks on behalf of our members, to insure the consumer voice is heard.
    • Maintain awareness of competitive activities and opportunities. Researches and communicates marketing and sales intelligence relating to competitors and changes in the environment.
  5. Analysis
    • Understands and identifies the changing customer profile to ensure maximum sales productivity.
    • Understands the competitive marketplace and how we can position our products against competitors.
  6. Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned or directed.
Qualifications
  1. Associates degree and three years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  2. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  3. Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  4. Active license with the state of Hawaii Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs or pass all four (4) sections of the state licensing examination within three months of hire date. Having an active license to sell Health, Life and Group Insurance products in the state of Hawaii is a condition of employment.
  5. Must have valid driver's license, access to an automobile with current license, registration, and no-fault insurance.
