At the Missouri Hospital Association (MHA), our mission is to shape an evolving environment that helps our members thrive and fulfill their current and future missions. We are seeking a Manager of Communications and Engagement to develop and execute strategic communications, marketing and engagement initiatives supporting Healthier Communities Together (HCT) and maternal health improvement initiatives, including the Missouri Perinatal Quality Collaborative (PQC). The position serves as the primary communications liaison for HCT, helping build awareness, engagement and trust among hospitals, health systems, primary care providers, behavioral health organizations, public health agencies, community-based organizations, funders and other cross-sector partners. The position also supports maternal and infant health improvement initiatives through strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, resource development and promotion of PQC programs, outcomes and quality improvement efforts. This position is funded by the federal government's Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) and through a contract received from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services to reduce maternal morbidity and mortality. Continuation of this position is dependent on renewals of these programs' financial assistance or funding from related programs.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with exceptional writing and storytelling skills who can develop communication strategies, manage multiple projects and translate complex information into clear, audience-focused messaging.

Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations or a related field, along with three to five years of experience in communications, marketing or stakeholder engagement. Experience with digital marketing, social media, email marketing, website content management systems and analytics is required. Experience in health care, public health, nonprofit communications or coalition-building is preferred.

We are looking for a self-starter who can work independently while collaborating effectively with diverse stakeholders. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities are essential.
