Ticket Booth Attendant

Purpose 

Ticket Booth Attendants are responsible for giving our guests the best first impression possible. This position requires close contact with the public, the ability to work well with co-workers, and assists Santa’s guests in a safe, courteous, and efficient manner.  

Functions and Responsibilities

1. Greets guests courteously and answers guest questions appropriately
2. Ensures clean work areas in public and storage areas
3. Scans prepaid tickets and season passes
4. Process sales of tickets to walk-up guests
5. Ensures safety of all employees and guests
6. Maintain a positive attitude 
7. Arrive at work on time, in “good show,” and keeps neat and clean throughout the day
8. Communicates daily with other employees
9. Must be willing to float to any location in the park as needed
10. Other duties as assigned

Knowledge and Skills

1. Must possess a courteous and friendly rapport with guests and co-workers
2. Must be able to handle cash and count out basic change to guests
3. Good computer skills including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
4. Possess good organizational skills and good leadership skills
5. Have interpersonal/communication skills orally and in written language

Extent of Public Contact

The Ticket Booth Attendant will greet guests, graciously providing them assistance, and answer their questions in order that they might better enjoy their visit.

Physical Demands

Much of the workday consists of standing and walking.  Often this position will be required to lift boxes weighing up to 20 pounds, and occasionally may be required to lift up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions and Environment

Daytime and Christmastime position which may include weekends and holidays.  Position is mostly indoors (in an open-air environment); however, cleaning and chores may be outside as well. 

Attendants may work in any of the following extreme weather situations:

• Summer – Hot and Humid Conditions:
  1. Attendants will work in hot and sunny weather, often with high humidity, especially in summer months
• Rain and Stormy Weather
  1. Attendants may have to work in light rain or deal with temporary bursts of inclement weather like thunderstorms or heavy rain.
• Windy Conditions
  1. In areas with frequent winds, attendants may need to monitor weather conditions to ensure safety of guests and employees
• Winter – Cold Conditions
  1. Attendants may be required to work in low temperatures, possibly with snow or ice.
  2. Will need to dress warmly, including wearing layers, gloves, hats, and appropriate outerwear.
  3. Depending on the location, there may be wind chill factors or occasional snow, which could impact visibility and comfort.

Job Requirements

• Must be 16 years of age or older
• At least 1 summer season of employment at Santa’s Village is preferred
• Must have excellent oral communication and customer service skills
• Must have extensive knowledge of Santa’s Village
• Must be able to exhibit all physical demands listed in this job description at any given time during shift
• Must be flexible throughout season in regards to scheduling and float assignments
• Must be willing to work at least 1 weekend day/week
