Core Responsibilities
- Supervision & Leadership: Direct daily activities for pipefitting crews (typically 2 to 10+ workers), assign daily tasks, and mentor apprentices or journeymen.
- Planning & Productivity: Pre-plan daily work, study blueprints, isometrics, and specifications, and coordinate material and equipment deliveries.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce company and OSHA safety rules, lead toolbox safety meetings, and audit proper PPE usage.
- Quality Control: Inspect work-in-progress to guarantee compliance with project plans, codes, and high-accuracy standards.
- Administration: Track labor hours, approve time sheets, and complete daily progress, safety, and inspection reports.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: 4 to 8 years of total pipefitting/industrial construction experience, including 2+ years in a proven leadership or supervisory role.
- Technical Skills: Advanced ability to read blueprints, P&IDs, and schematics; deep knowledge of rigging, cutting, welding, and pressure testing.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to work long shifts (up to 12 hours) in extreme weather, lift up to 50–100 lbs, and climb or maneuver around confined, uneven job sites.
- Certifications: High school diploma or GED; vocational training or valid trade credentials/certifications (such as UA journeyman status or certified welding credentials) preferred.
