Overview
The Distribution Supervisor leads a team of associates within a dynamic warehouse environment, driving productivity, problem resolution, outstanding customer service, employee motivation and development while maintaining a safe, professional workspace. This role is responsible for achieving operational goals, supporting continuous improvement, and fostering a culture aligned with SCLS values and mission.
What you will do:
- Manage and lead a team of about 15 hourly associates, including operations and office support in a large warehouse (319,000 sq. ft.), ensuring high performance and cost control.
- Ensure acceptable levels of profitability by meeting or exceeding productivity standards and cost control management with a concentrated focus on effective labor management.
- Ensure exceptional customer service key performance indicators including labeling accuracy, inventory accuracy, order accuracy and minimizing product damage.
- Promote LEAN principles and process improvement, teaching and enforcing SCLS’ Quality Policy at all times.
- Maintain a clean, professional, and safe working environment, meeting or exceeding SCLS safety goals.
- Effectively communicate company goals, expectations, areas for improvement, and successes to associates.
- Coach, train, and mentor direct reports, supporting their personal growth and career development.
- Conduct annual performance reviews.
- Assist clients with supply chain needs and demands.
- Maintain professional communication (written and verbal) in daily interactions with the customer.
- Demonstrate agility and maintain real-time awareness of all warehouse operations, proactively identifying and addressing issues to ensure seamless execution
Our ideal candidate will have…
- High School Diploma or GED required
- At least two (2) years of experience in a lead or supervisor role, preferably in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Experience in supply chain/logistics is a plus, but not required.
- Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement training and experience preferred.
- Technical savvy, intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based, and job-specific software applications.
- Demonstrated leadership skills to influence the department, implement, and manage change.
- Strong listening, collaboration, communication, and motivation skills to accomplish work goals.
- Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities to overcome obstacles and maximize opportunities.
- Ability to thrive under pressure in a high-stress, dynamic environment while focusing on operational goals.
- Strong organization, multi-tasking skills, and ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple projects and set priorities.
- Ability to build a cohesive team that exemplifies SCLS’ values and supports the mission statement.
