JOB SUMMARYĀ
To supportĀ growthĀ of the company,Ā CoxĀ FleetĀ is currently hiringāÆaĀ Mobile Trailer Technician IIĀ to join our team! This is a dedicated on-siteĀ positionĀ and we do not provide emergency side of the roadĀ type ofĀ repairs. If you are looking for a new place to call home, we would love to talk to you!Ā TheĀ Mobile Trailer Technician II willĀ be responsible forĀ performing certified DOT inspections, Preventative Maintenance inspections, light repairs, and other duties as assigned suchĀ asĀ trailer brakes, air lines, auxiliary pumps, and engines, liftgates, brake chambers, welding, fabrication, replacement of panels,Ā bodyĀ and framework.Ā Ā Ā Work performed at the customer's site. The Mobile Trailer Technician II can perform more advanced repairs under the supervision of a Sr Mobile Trailer Technician or higher.Ā Ā The Mobile Trailer Technician II assists Sr Mobile Trailer Technician or higher Technicians with repairs and continues to learnĀ additionalĀ advanced mechanical skills.Ā Ā A successful Mobile Trailer Technician IIĀ complies withĀ all company policies and achievesĀ high levelĀ performance metrics.Ā Ā

DUTIESĀ
Perform preventive Maintenance and repairs, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on various trailers and equipment with little or no supervision.Ā
Document according to company standards and upload pictures of work performed, parts used, and all findingsĀ observedĀ on Repair Orders (āROā) using company issued iOS device and our proprietary TRAIT applicationĀ Ā
Perform minor adjustment and repairs onĀ various typesĀ of trailers equipment and systems including, but not limited to the following: trailer brakes, air lines, auxiliaryĀ pumpsĀ and engines, liftgates, and brake chambersĀ
Accurately complete DOT forms and all other forms of documentation inĀ a timelyĀ fashion.Ā
Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical components.Ā Ā
Always follows andĀ compliesĀ with safe operating practices and procedures.Ā Ā
Independently manage parts inventory and equipment provided on company-issued service truck and perform periodic reconciliation.Ā Ā
Maintain andĀ operateĀ company-issued serviceĀ vehicle, conduct safety checks, and pre-/post-trip inspections ofĀ vehicle.Ā Ā
Applies knowledge that isĀ acquiredĀ through formal training or on-the-job experience to perform one's job; works with, understands, and evaluatesĀ technicalĀ information related to the job.Ā Ā

Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (āPMā), DOT Inspections and follow up repairs on trailers and equipment in a mobile/field environment.Ā
Respond to call center dispatched unscheduled service and maintenance request.Ā
Use hand tools, precision instruments, as well as Trailer tools, welding equipment, and jacks.Ā
Work with a high degree of independence and manageĀ ownĀ daily schedule.Ā
MaintainĀ a high levelĀ of productivity and be able to work within or close to most Standard Repair Times.Ā
Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as necessary for the repairs to be performed.Ā
Communicate with management and support team via email or phone to obtain approvals on repair estimates, retrieve purchase order numbers and/or discuss RO findings notes.Ā
Perform all work in compliance with organizational safety, health and environmental policies, and federal regulations,Ā to includeĀ OSHA, EPA, and DOT.Ā
Participate and complete all-in companyĀ requiredĀ safety training.Ā
Establishes andĀ maintainsĀ good working relationships with assigned customers and vendors. Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Ā
MaintainĀ company issued serviceĀ truck, conduct safety checks and daily pre/post trip inspections.Ā
Adhere to company policies, processes, and procedures.Ā
RemainĀ up to dateĀ on safety protocols and procedures.Ā
Diagnose, adjust, and perform repairs onĀ various typesĀ of trailer equipment, and systems including, but not limited to the following: trailer brakes, air lines, auxiliaryĀ pumpsĀ and engines, liftgates, brake chambers, welding, fabrication, replacement of panels,Ā body,Ā and framework.Ā
IdentifyĀ problems,Ā determineĀ accuracy and relevance of information, using sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives.Ā Ā
Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.Ā
Assist Mobile TrailerĀ Technician IĀ with diagnostics.Ā

REQUIREMENTSĀ
High School Diploma/GED and 3 yearsā experience in a related fieldĀ (Trailers). The right candidateĀ Ā
could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HSĀ Ā
diploma/GED in a related discipline; or 5 yearsā experience in a related field.Ā Ā
Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.Ā
OEM training and certifications are preferred.Ā
Participate in and complete all-in company required trainingĀ

This position follows regulations issued by the Department of Transportationās (DOT) Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Candidate must be able to successfully complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment.Ā Ā
A current and valid DOT medical card with more than four (4) monthsĀ remainingĀ until itsĀ expirationĀ may beĀ submittedĀ inĀ leuĀ of a DOT physical. If the DOT medical card has four (4) months orĀ less ofĀ validityĀ remaining, a DOT physical will beĀ required.Ā
Due to interstate operatingĀ authorityĀ commerce regulations, candidates must be at least 21 years or older.Ā Ā
Safe drivers needed; valid driverās licenseĀ required.Ā CandidateĀ must hold a valid state-of-residence driverās license, be able to obtain andĀ maintainĀ their Driver Qualification File.Ā
