POSITION SUMMARY: The Universal Banker at First Oklahoma Bank, breaks the mold of what it means to be a banker. Focusing on superior consultative sales and a customer experience, Universal Bankers open accounts, inform and educate customers about our products and technology services, find resolutions to customer questions and concerns with a genuine and collaborative attitude, and handle teller transactions. Universal Bankers build relationships with our customers, earning their trust by recommending financial solutions based on each customer’s unique goals and needs. The position is governed by established policies and guidelines.Â
RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Recommends products and technology services to customers inquiring about deposit and loan products, identifies customer needs to offer the most suitable product to benefit the customer through questions and conversations regarding what services they are seeking. Completes the appropriate forms and documentation to open new or make adjustments to existing accounts by following all applicable policies, guidelines and regulations.Â
- Ensures customer satisfaction through proactive follow-up correspondence and communications. Ensures all customer issues are resolved.Â
- Monitors daily Overdraft Report and deposit exceptions.Â
- Accurately process customer transactions such as cash back, deposits, term deposits, loan payments, retirement savings plan contributions, night deposits, courier deposits, and mail deposits and other requests by following established bank policy.Â
- Balance currency, coin, and checks in cash drawer at end-of-shift and calculate daily transactions using computer, calculator, or adding machine. Identify transaction errors when debits and credits do not balance. Balance and replenish automated cash recycler, balance the vault, order and sell currency and coin.
- Prepare and verify cashier’s checks, money orders, cash advances, and disbursements checks. Process transactions such as term deposits, loan payments, retirement savings plan contributions, night deposits, courier deposits, and mail deposits. Balance and replenish automated cash recycler.
- Follow procedures established according to teller manual, including opening and closing check lists and all other policies set forth by First Oklahoma Bank.
- Performs or assists with monthly and quarterly branch audits of cash drawers, the vault, key inventory, and safe deposit box audit.Â

- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality with information relating to the bank, bank customers, officers, directors, investors, and employees
- High level of dependability regarding attendance and punctuality
- Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data
- Problem-solving skills by analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution
Equivalent Education/Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; some college is preferred but not required.Â
- 1 year of progressive responsibility in a banking or retail sales environment, or equivalent related experience.
Preferred Experience/Qualifications
- 1-year New Accounts related experience
- Knowledge of financial institution products and services
