Veterinary United (VU) is proud to serve the Jensen Beach community, and we’re looking for a compassionate, dependable Veterinary Assistant who thrives in a modern, team-oriented medical environment.

This role is hands-on and well-rounded. While surgical support is part of the position, it is not the sole focus. We’re seeking a Veterinary Assistant who enjoys being involved in all aspects of patient care — from supporting appointments and diagnostics to assisting with procedures and client communication.

What You’ll Do

Support Comprehensive Patient Care

• Assist veterinarians and technicians during appointments

• Help restrain patients safely and compassionately

• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas

• Support diagnostic testing and treatments

• Provide clear and friendly client communication

Assist with Procedures & Surgery

• Prepare patients for procedures

• Support anesthesia monitoring under technician or doctor supervision

• Maintain clean and organized surgical areas

• Ensure instruments and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained

Contribute to a Team-Focused Environment

• Work closely with doctors, technicians, and client service representatives

• Assist with patient flow and hospital efficiency

• Participate in team discussions and support positive workplace culture

What We’re Looking For

• Experience as a Veterinary Assistant preferred 

• Experience with animal handling, restrains, blood draws, passing meds, and more

• Comfort supporting both appointments and procedures

• Strong work ethic and attention to detail

• A calm presence in a fast-paced environment

• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset

• A passion for high-quality patient care
