Overview
BloomNet is seeking a driven and relationship-focused Account Relationship Manager to support and grow our network of florists across Michigan, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, and Minnesota.
Michigan will serve as the primary market for this position and will account for the majority of the Account Relationship Manager’s customer visits and travel. The remaining states—North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, and Minnesota—collectively include approximately 60 customer accounts and will require less frequent travel based on customer and business needs.
This is a field-based role ideal for someone who thrives on building strong partnerships, delivering value-driven solutions, and independently managing a multi-state territory.
As an Account Relationship Manager, you will serve as a trusted advisor to BloomNet’s florist partners. You will help customers maximize their businesses through BloomNet’s products, services, and programs while supporting long-term customer success, retention, account health, and revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with florists throughout Michigan, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, and Minnesota.
- Manage Michigan as the primary market within the territory, conducting regular in-person customer visits and dedicating the majority of field travel to accounts throughout the state.
- Support approximately 60 customer accounts located collectively across North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, and Minnesota through a combination of virtual communication and strategically planned in-person visits.
- Conduct regular in-person and virtual meetings to educate customers on BloomNet’s products, services, and programs, identify business needs, and drive customer engagement.
- Manage and support an established portfolio of florist accounts while identifying opportunities to strengthen relationships, improve account health, and increase customer retention.
- Develop and execute a structured territory-management and follow-up strategy based on account needs, customer concentration, market opportunity, and geographic location.
- Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts and drive incremental revenue through BloomNet products, services, and programs.
- Prospect for and develop new business opportunities within the assigned territory, including consultative selling, negotiation, and contract execution.
- Serve as a trusted business advisor by understanding each customer’s business, operational challenges, and growth opportunities and recommending solutions that deliver value.
- Provide ongoing operational and strategic support to florist partners, helping them navigate customer needs, business challenges, and BloomNet programs.
- Maintain consistent communication and follow-through with customers while independently managing a large geographic territory and travel schedule.
- Stay informed about floral industry trends, competitor activity, market conditions, and customer needs to effectively position BloomNet’s offerings.
- Utilize Salesforce to manage customer relationships, maintain an accurate sales pipeline, track account activity, document follow-up, and report performance metrics.
- Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Customer Service, Product, Operations, and other internal teams to resolve customer needs and support long-term client success.
- Represent BloomNet during regular market visits, trade shows, industry events, and other customer-facing activities throughout the territory.
- Share customer insights, market intelligence, business trends, and best practices to contribute to a collaborative and high-performing team.

- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- Two to three years of experience in outside sales, territory sales, account management, business development, customer success, or a related customer-facing role.
- Demonstrated success managing customer relationships, improving customer retention, growing accounts, and independently managing a sales territory.
- Strong relationship-building, consultative selling, negotiation, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
- Customer-first mindset with the ability to build trusted partnerships and identify solutions that support customer success and business growth.
- Strong accountability, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently in a field-based environment.
- Consistent follow-through and the ability to manage ongoing customer needs, operational concerns, and competing priorities.

- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to strategically manage a large, multi-state geographic territory.
- Comfortable learning and using new systems, tools, and technology platforms.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and customer relationship management platforms; Salesforce experience is strongly preferred.
- Bilingual Spanish skills are strongly preferred.
- Residence in Michigan is strongly preferred due to the concentration of accounts and frequency of travel required throughout the state.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently, up to 75% of the time, with the majority of travel occurring throughout Michigan and periodic travel to North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, and Minnesota.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license are required.
Compensation
The expected salary range for this position is $55,000 to $65,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, and other factors permitted by law.
