The Senior Copywriter – Food Group is responsible for executing copywriting needs across the 1-800-Flowers.com, Inc. family of food brands, including Cheryl’s Cookies, Wolferman’s, Vital Choice, and more. This role requires expertise in both editorial and promotional copywriting across digital marketing channels such as email, organic social, website, and paid media.

This individual understands how to adapt brand voice based on channel (e.g., social, email, web) and audience type (e.g., acquisition, retention, reactivation), while maintaining consistency and brand integrity. The ideal candidate balances storytelling and brand building with performance-driven messaging that supports traffic growth and sales.

Responsibilities

  • Write compelling, conversion-focused copy for omnichannel marketing campaigns that inspire action and align with performance goals
  • Translate business and creative briefs into clear, engaging messaging tailored to various audiences and channels across multiple brands
  • Work efficiently under tight deadlines with strong attention to detail
  • Maintain brand voice across all touchpoints, including product storytelling, campaign messaging, CRM personalization, and taglines
  • Contribute to campaign ideation and editorial planning as needed
  • Self-edit with precision, balancing creativity with clarity, and incorporate feedback effectively in fast-paced review cycles
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to concept, test, and optimize messaging performance
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field
  • 5–7 years of professional experience in copywriting, editorial, or a related discipline
  • Proven ability to write compelling, conversion-driven copy across digital channels
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of creative work across formats and platforms
  • Excellent communication, editing, and time management skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience working with food and/or retail brands is preferred
  • Strategic thinker with a passion for blending creativity and performance-driven marketing

The expected hourly pay range for this position is $27.00 to $33.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, and other factors permitted by law.
