About This Opportunity

CTI Staffing is partnering with a leading global financial services organization to find a Senior KDB+ Developer for their Regulatory Reporting Technology team.

This team builds and maintains mission-critical brokerage reporting applications operating under strict regulatory requirements. You'll work at the intersection of high-volume financial data, complex regulatory compliance, and cutting-edge development — with a direct line to architecture decisions and real ownership of what you build.

What You'll Do

  • Design, develop, and maintain KDB+ applications supporting regulatory reporting across multiple asset classes and brokerage product lines
  • Collaborate with regulatory reporting business teams to translate compliance requirements into technical solutions
  • Participate in architecture, design, and analysis activities — not just feature delivery
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and application deployment automation
  • Work within an Agile team environment (Kanban and Scrum) to deliver high-quality, production-grade code
  • Partner with other brokerage technology teams to ensure data integrity and regulatory accuracy
  • Contribute to the development of REST microservices and integration with event streaming platforms

Requirements

What You Bring

Must-Have:

  • Extensive, hands-on KDB+ (q language) development experience — primary language, not peripheral exposure
  • 10+ years of combined experience across foundational development languages: KDB+, Java, Python
  • Proficiency in Linux and Bash scripting
  • Experience with application deployment automation and CI/CD pipelines (Kubernetes, Maven, Jenkins, Docker, Ansible)
  • Experience with source control in Git/Bitbucket for feature-driven development
  • Experience working in Agile environments (Kanban and Scrum)
  • Ability and willingness to work fully onsite at one of the listed locations (relocation required if not already local — September transition to 5 days/week onsite)

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience with Apache Kafka or other event streaming platforms
  • Familiarity with Control-M or similar job scheduling tools
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
  • Experience with UI frameworks (Angular, React) — 5+ years preferred
  • Familiarity with Artifactory, Apigee API registry, or uDeploy
  • Background in regulatory reporting, brokerage operations, or capital markets

Technical Environment:

  • Primary: KDB+ / q language
  • Languages: Python, Java, Linux/Bash
  • DevOps: Kubernetes, Maven, Jenkins, Docker, Ansible, Bitbucket/Git
  • Streaming: Apache Kafka
  • Databases: Relational + NoSQL
  • Scheduling: Control-M (familiarity)
  • Architecture: REST microservices

What Success Looks Like:

  • Within 90 days: Fully onboarded, contributing KDB+ features to regulatory reporting pipelines in production
  • Within 6 months: Independently owning components of regulatory reporting architecture with zero critical defects
  • Ongoing: Trusted technical contributor who participates in architecture decisions and delivers under regulatory-grade quality standards
